Welcome to 1st Hunt! Be sure to scroll down on each page for information. I look forward to seeing/meeting you soon! - Sue Anne
You know, I don't think I had 2 winter weather events and a flood on my January 2026 Bingo Card - but here we are! During J-Term, 1st Hunt enjoyed a mini-version of the ACME games with new teams where they competed in elementary school relays and coinhole. It definitely made for a lot of laughs and a good time. Outside of that, we made mac n cheese with 2nd Bryan, enjoyed multiple food runs, open gyms, and pancakes during the snow days for those still on campus. Then, everyone disappeared for their various trips (which I cannot wait to hear about!). From those I've talked to, it sounds like everyone had a great time. Then, the winter weather hit... twice! Needless to say, I think we are all ready for 2nd semester to finally get under way, folks to come back, and return to normalcy.
Don't forget to sign up for birthday celebrations and hall food for the 2nd semester! We'll do January and February together on February 10th and hall food on February 16th. Sign up to sponsor a date HERE!
The first round of the J-Term Blitz ACME Hall Games was elementary relay races. We had a lot of laughs, tense competition, and a great time!
The first race was the airplane relay. Each team was given paper and had to craft a plane for each member of the team. On "GO!", one person from each team would put their plane in flight headed for mid-court. Once mid-court was crossed, they would turn around and head back to base. Once crossing the line, the next team member departed. Some planes did great!... Some learned how to do loopti-doos, and some took the slow by steady mindset.
Check out the airplane relay, ping pong ball and spoon relay, and the over under relay! The last two videos are time lapses, so don't blink!
If you've ever played cornhole, then you might can imagine what coinhole would look like. Same board, but MUCH smaller, and instead of bean bags, a coin! To play, you bounce the coin off of the table hoping to sink it in the hole or land on the board. For this event, we played two versions of the game. One a relay race where a hole in one earns 2 points and landing it on the board earns 1. Each team wins points, but if they beat Sue Anne, they win a bonus. In the end, Sue Anne came out on top winning by 3 points. For the next game, we played a coinhole original. In this game, everyone is in a circle and has their own coin. Two boards are started on oposite sides. When you get the board, if you sink the hole in one on the first shot, you can pass the board left or right. If you do not, you keep shooting until you get the hole in one and then pass the board left. Eventually, the boards will stack on one person. At that time, the person has one shot to sink the double stack. Needless to say, it's a face past, high intensity game!
